Our Story

We've Been in Your Shoes

Like many Omaha homeowners, Scott and Kevin once shopped around for painters for their own houses — and kept thinking, “We could do this better.”

With decades of hands-on experience on job sites, managing crews, and delivering paint projects that stand up to Nebraska's extreme weather, they decided to start their own company.

That's how Great Plains Painting was born — a locally owned business built on higher standards, better communication, and a commitment to quality that turns “just another paint job” into something homeowners are proud to show off.

Who We Are

Two Guys, One Standard

Scott and Kevin were in the exact same spot many Omaha homeowners find themselves in — they both needed their own houses painted and couldn't find a company they trusted to do it right.

Tired of the same old problems (missed appointments, sloppy work, and “good enough” results), they decided to start their own company and raise the bar in the local painting market.

The two met on a job site years ago and quickly bonded over their shared obsession with doing things the right way — staying late to fix details rather than cutting corners. Together they've tackled everything from new construction and commercial repaints to high-end residential projects. That real-world experience taught them exactly how a painting company should operate.

Great Plains Painting is the result. We intentionally stay small so we can stay personally involved in every job. When you call us, you're reaching the owners who will actually be at your house — not a middleman. This is painting done right, by people who care as much about your home as you do.

How We Work

A Few Things We Won't Compromise On

You'll Always Know Who's Showing Up

No surprise crews, no strangers. When you book Great Plains, Scott or Kevin is on-site managing the work. Every time.

Prep Is the Job

Most paint problems start with bad prep. We spend the time others skip — washing, sanding, priming — because that's what makes a paint job last.

We Pick Up the Phone

No waiting three days for a callback. If you have a question before, during, or after the job, someone answers.

“We treat every home like it's our own. That's why we only send crews we'd trust with our own houses — because your satisfaction is our reputation on the line.”
